TXS Hold’em Pro Series

Netent provides its players with a decent range of table games, from blackjack through to baccarat. However, one of the developer’s more overlooked games is its TXS Hold’em Pro Series table game, but checking through this review will explain to you that it’s a bad thing to overlook such a game. In order to play the game, you might need to know a little bit more about the game, in general. Texas Hold’em is a variation of the card game of poker, where two cards are provided as the hole cards, and these are dealt face down to each player, followed by five community cards dealt face up. It’s a game that has been around since the early 1900s and, of course, any such game needs to be translated to the online world, which Netent took care of with this Pro Series version.

The Visual Appeal

As soon as you load this game up, you’ll be presented with a very visually appealing table layout. Of course, it offers up the regular green felt table, and in the top right hand corner is where your cards will be dealt from. Moving to the centre at the top, you’ll see a set of chips, while the minimum and maximum wagers can be seen to the left of this. Underneath this are three circles with the words ‘Call (Flop)’, ‘Bet (Turn)’ and ‘Bet (River)’ stated inside them. A smaller circle is displayed lower down with the word ‘Ante’ written in it. Players will be at an advantage if they’re aware of the types of hands that can be formed when playing poker, although the game does also highlight what type of hand you have as you play.

Customising the game as far as your wagers are concerned is able to be done from the very bottom of the screen as there are various different chips on offer in the bottom right. These exist in the form of €1, €5 and €10, and there’s another chip which features a red ‘x’ on it, and this will cancel off any bets already placed. Your bets are placed by clicking the chips onto the circle marked ‘Ante’, and here you’re able to place a minimum bet of €1 and a maximum bet of €40 per hand dealt. The only other customisation features that can be altered are the ability to turn sounds on and off and the altering of the game’s graphics.

How to Play and the Winnings

Once you have chosen the wager that you’d like to play, you simply need to press the central green ‘Deal’ button. This will see both yourself and the dealer who you’re facing provided with two cards. The dealer’s are dealt face down, while you’re able to view your own. It’s then up to you to decide whether or not you want to ‘Call’ or ‘Fold’ Choosing the latter will end the round and your bet will be lost, while if you opt to go for the call function you wager will be doubled and three face up cards will be dealt into the centre of the table. The type of hand that you have will be shown to the right hand side of the two cards you were originally dealt. You then have the chance to either ‘Bet’ or ‘Check’. The check option will see you stick with the cards dealt to be compared against the dealer’s, while the bet option will see an equal bet to your original stake placed. A fourth card will then be dealt to the centre. You’re then offered the same options again, and following this your cards will be compared against the dealer’s, with the player holding the higher hand receiving the pay out.

Winnings in this game aren’t so vast in terms of the types of pay outs you’re able to receive. Any hands where you and the dealer tie with the exact same amount will be paid out as such – you simply get your wagers back. Standard 5-card poker hand rankings are used, but for any winning hand of yours that beats the dealer’s hand, you will receive a simple pay out of 1:1.
